Trapiche, Melodias Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina, 2019

This winery was founded back in 1883. And here’s us still thinking that Argentina is “new world”. Well, I guess in the grand scheme of things it is quite a youthful country, given the Georgians & Armenians have been producing wine since around 6000 BC. Alas, we digress. Trapiche is a rather large winery based in the Mendoza region. They have gotten to be this big by looking after their product and the farmers who grow their grapes. A blend of traditional wine-making methods blended nicely with cutting edge technology.

Dense. Plums. Blueberry. Violet. Hint of warm spice.

All of the above. Black cherry. Warming yet not too heavy.
