Where to begin with this fabulous grape. In terms of history, there aren’t many varieties doing the rounds with more history than zibibbo and fear not, we shall go in to this when we crack it open. But basically it has been drunk by anyone and everyone who was someone since well before the days of Alexander the Great, and with a bit of luck it shall be drunk for millenia to come. Super versatile, it can produce incredibly unctuous and sweet dessert wines like Moscato di Pantelleria or, like this one, honeyed and refreshing back garden smashers. Gold Medal at Berlin 2017.
