Ramon Bilbao, Verdejo, Rueda D.O, Spain, 2019

£12.00

In their own words: “A beginning, a conclusion. A beginning, an ending. A sensation. We spend our lives trying to climb the sensitive fibre. Because, what other objective is there in life that doesn’t involve reaching the senses? Come closer to people with a wine that goes further.”

Ramon Bilbao was recently recognised as one of “The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands 2020” by Drinks International. Verdejo is a superb grape for those who like their wines dry, crisp and refreshing. To be had with some delicious grub or purely when sitting in the back garden soaking up some rays. Either way you are on to a winner. The vines are grown at 700m above sea level and then subjected to a whole host of wonderful vinification methods to keep it as fresh as the day the grapes were picked.

Nose

Yellowish-green colour, clean and brilliant. Intense fruit aromas with fennel, aniseed, wild herbs, lemon zest, and white flowers.

Palate

All of the above. Full, rich and oily in texture, coating the mouth. Fresh, crisp and with great, balanced acidity. Citric and herbal on the back palate.
