Ramon Bilbao, Edicion Limitada, Rioja, D.O.C, Spain, 2017

In their own words: “To innovate, to create something, to look at things in a different way, or even to write backwards. To try, to accept the challenge, to live without fear. To risk everything for a modernity that’s easy to understand. Modernity, a change, a limited edition originality.”

This wine is made from only the best grapes and is the result of a fabulous, award-winning winery striving to innovate and push boundaries. The Tempranillo (100%) grapes are grown at between 450m-700m above sea level and then left to ponder the marvels of the universe for 15 months in new French oak, before a further 10 months to stew on its ponderings in the bottle. Keep them coming R.B.

Intense ruby red. Clean but with high aromatics. Blackcurrants, ripe plum and blackberries. Liquorice, fresh herbs, vanilla oak, cocoa and a touch of espresso.

All of the above. Long and intense. Polished tannins and lovely acidity. Scrumptious.
