"These wines are cracking for a garden party or barbecue. Refreshing, summery, fruity and aromatic. Great with food, or as standalone quaffers, for someone who enjoys the finer things."Bodegas del Medievo, Rioja Blanco, Spain, 2016 - x 2 bottles
Notes: Rich pineapple, coconut, lemon zest, banana, tropical vanilla, and with a nutty finish.
Barrel-fermented Viura from a lovely estate in Rioja. This method gives the wine access to natural yeasts, which give the wine a Cava-esq quality with extra depth of flavour. A great food wine. Chop House owner, Rog, can't get enough of this stuff.
Ramon Bilbao, Verdejo, Rueda, Spain, 2016 - x 2 bottles
Notes: Lemon, herbs, kiwi, green apple then melon, peach and passionfruit on the palate.
BRONZE - Decanter Wine Awards
“Briny apple-cider aromas precede a lean palate with the texture of grape skins. Citrus and green-herb flavors are tight on a snappy finish. Refreshing acidity is the main player on this lees-aged Verdejo.” - Michael Schachner, 87 points, Wine Enthusiast.Castellani, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Tuscany, Italy, 2019 - x 2 bottles
Notes: Zesty, floral, red apple, pepper, herbs with an nutty almond finish.
Welcome to your new favourite dry white wine. Set in arguably one of the most beautiful areas of the Italian Peninsula, with sunshine a-plenty, undulating hills and over a century of wine-making skills to back it all up, Castellani pretty much has it all.
It’s a toss up when it comes to the grapes' origins (Ancient Greece / Middle Eastern / Roman) but this grape has found it’s forever home in this corner or the Tuscany landscape. Crisp, clean, refreshing, immensely food friendly...and incredible value for money.
