Considering this is South Australia we are talking about, the unique geography of the area (Strathbogie Ranges region) means that this is actually quite a cool climate. And Fowles are one of the best in the area at crafting wines from these conditions. Poor soils, unforgiving landscapes and very little water might sound like hell on earth but in fact, that is perfect Chardonnay vine growing territory and it shows in this cracker.
Peach and exotic fruit. Subtle hint of oak and biscuity flavours.
Tropical fruits like pineapple and papaya. Touch of vanilla. Lovely creamy acidity.
Wild game, especially quail and pheasant.
