Located in Rivesaltes, in the heart of the Roussilon region – sandwiched nicely between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean and founded in 1895, Domaine Cazes has it all, the terroir, the history and the paludits. By 1940 the Domaine had over 40 hectares of land and the first bottles appeared in 1955.... and by the mid-1990s was certified as fully organic and biodynamic (we will go through the intricacies of biodynamics in a bit). A delicious blend of Grenache and Syrah, two of the classic varieties of the region.Nose
Lifted, ripe red fruits. Fresh spices and roasted nuts.
Bramble. Cherry. Earthy but fresh. Classic southern French.
Beef and veal dishes, tomato heavy pasta dishes and maybe even a pizza. Superb with our Beef Shin Stew with Manchester Mustard Dumplings.
