One of the greatest elements of working in the wine industry is stumbling across a super value-for-money wine and this is one of those. Nick's (one of our sommeliers) favourite wine is Barolo but he can’t necessarily afford to drink it all the time, which is a crying shame because he’d have it on his cereal if he could. This wine is basically “Baby Barolo” – made from the same Nebbiolo grapes which are grown in the same soil as it’s famous older sibling and harvested by the same hand that makes it; it just isn’t aged for as long. A brilliant wine from a fabulous producer and one that won’t break the bank. Enjoy!
Red cherry. Raspberry and strawberry. Plums. Lick of oak. Sweet tobacco, leather, chocolate and espresso.
Intense. All of the above. Great structure. Barolo-esqe tannins and a very long finish.
