Caliterra, Carmenere Reserva, Chile, 2017

£9.60

Great value for money, silky and fruity but still packs a punch. Originally a Bordeaux variety but has now definitely found it’s home in Chile.

Nose:

Ripe blackberry. Blueberries. Cinnamon and pepper.

Palate:

All of the above. Mouthfilling and rich. Superb balance between acid, tannins and body with a great finish.

Grilled / roasted red meats and root vegetables, casseroles, stews and pizza.

"Full-bodied and rich, with spicy aromas of intense dried fruits, dark chocolate, coffee and ripe blackberry. A richly fruity palate with touches of smoky spice, smooth tannins and a long finish.

An excellent food wine. Powerful enough to match with a variety of flavours and dishes. Try grilled or roasted red meats, casseroles & stews and spicy dishes. It also pairs well with mature strong cheeses."
