Ascheri, Montalupa Viognier, Piedmont, Italy, 2007

Viognier has been quietly going about its business, producing exceptional wines for some time now. But here, we see it being grown a distance away from its natural habitat of southern France. And its still exceptional.

Melon. Orchard stone fruits. White flowers. Ginger.

Peach. Honey. Buttery. Herbal. Classy.

What George says about this wine...

"A deep golden Viognier with delicious spring fruit nose. Apricots, apples, honey and mandarin. The wine begins spicy moving into bold fruit and lingering with delicious white pepper.

This wine demands luxury in its food partner. Grilled lobster, roasted chicken or turkey with apricots, meaty fish like turbot with creamy sauce and asparagus. The perfect match to our Chop House Roast Chicken Dinner."
