Ancient Wines - History and Booze with 3 Seriously Special Guests - 7:30pm on the 27th March (3 Full Bottles to Share)

The price includes 3 x full bottles of wine from around the world, matching homemade mezze style food (including cheese)tasting notes and access to our exclusive zoom tasting event with sommeliers George Bergier and Nick Fildes.

We are also delighted to welcome special guest Egyptologists Joann Fletcher & Alan Fildes. AND we also hope to be joined by winemaker Ralph Hochar from Chateau Musar, one of Lebanon's most esteemed wineries which use the country's 6,000 year winemaking traditions to produce some stunning wines.

Each tasting box is designed to be shared between at least two people.

One thing is for certain, the Ancients drank plenty of wine. But what do we know about their juice, drinking habits and its religious purposes? Join the Chop House as we travel back in time, through the ages of the Alexander The Great, Cleopatra, the Pyramids of Giza and even further back to Armenia and Georgia where it all started some 8,000 years ago.
Join Symposiarch Nick Fildes and Chop House legend George Bergier, accompanied by true experts in their historical fields (and keen wine drinkers) to discuss and drink through some of antiquity's finest liquids. Three wines from different parts of the world, each with ancient winemaking traditions and three experts in history. Learn about the ancient cultures who used the very grapes you're drinking.

It's the history lesson you wished you had at school!
