Don David, El Esteco, Malbec Reserve, Cafayate, Salta, Argentina

A fairly "old" winery here from the "New World" – formed in 1892. Right up north in the region of Salta, near the town of Cafayate. Malbec is originally from the Cahors region in France but has found its place in the spotlight in Argentina. One of the most famous wineries producing this rockstar grape. And for good reason. A cracking example. This is, in many ways, the ultimate red meat lovers wine. Magnificent with steak. It starts off big and with time in the glass and a bit of warmth it gets even bigger.
