G.H. Mumm, Cordon Rouge Brut, Reims, France

Our very own George Bergier, Head Somellier, is current Consul of L’Ordre Des Coteaux de Champagne. The man knows his Champagne.

What George says about this wine...

"This Champagne House is very close to me as its premisis are where I was invested into the position of the Consul of the Ordre des Coteaux the Champagne L'Angleterre du Nord, in January 2020.

Chef de Cave Laurent Fresnet is a personal friend and he has visited the Chop Houses before to host a tasting event. I visited the House, for the third time, last October where we had a fascinating tasting of the whole House's range, including this BRUT, which is a very careful blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and the Pinot Meunier.

It is very well balanced and fresh with golden yellow colour. A real quality fizz. It has tropical fruit aromas and a palate of ripe fruits with a subtle and rounded finish.

Ideal as an aperitif, or with fish & chips and white meat dishes."

Fresh, fruity and elegant this is the perfect drink for celebrating. G.H. MUMM Cordon Rouge can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with food and its aromatic richness is also a perfect match for white meat and fish.

Founded in 1827 this award-winning champagne is a testament to G.H. Mumm's uncompromising motto, "only the best".

This champagne won a Gold Medal at the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) 2015. The IWSC Awards are the premier wine and spirit awards in the world, setting an international benchmark for quality.

Since it was founded in 1827, the House of G.H. Mumm has been guided by a high regard for the champagne region's traditions and culture. The House has retained Georges Hermann Mumm's uncompromising maxim: "Only the Best". G.H. Mumm Brut Cordon Rouge, The House's Signature Cuvee, comes from a subtle blend of 77 different crus. Its distinctive style captures the superb diversity of the region's vineyards, offering a harmonious balance of freshness with intensity.
